The Lost War – Cover Reveal!

It’s a real privilege to present to you the brand new, redesigned cover for The Lost War by Justin Lee Anderson.

This is the first book in Justin’s Eidyn fantasy trilogy with book two, The Insurgent King scheduled for release next year.

It was only the third book I reviewed as a blogger late last year and remains one of my firm favourites – check out my review here (a little less polished but I think my passion shines through) and the synopsis below, followed by the brand new cover! You can also check out an interview I did with Justin that was a lot of fun – link at the bottom.

I think you’ll agree the cover is very striking and as someone familiar with the book, it represents the story excellently and I think gives the series a clear identity when it comes to that all important cover. I’ll leave you to it!

Synopsis

The war is over, but something is rotten in the state of Eidyn.

With a ragged peace in place, demons burn farmlands, violent Reivers roam the wilds and plague has spread beyond the Black Meadows. The country is on its knees.

In a society that fears and shuns him, Aranok is the first magically-skilled draoidh to be named King’s Envoy.

Now, charged with restoring an exiled foreign queen to her throne, he leads a group of strangers across the ravaged country. But at every step, a new mystery complicates their mission.

As bodies drop around them, new threats emerge and lies are revealed, can Aranok bring his companions together and uncover the conspiracy that threatens the kingdom?

Strap in for this twisted fantasy road trip from award-winning author Justin Lee Anderson.

Cover Reveal

Look at that beauty of a cover!

As you can see the cover is so bold, striking and I think sums up the themes of dark fantasy, magic and mystery which feature in this brilliant book.

A bit of fun I had designing my own promo for the cover reveal

About the author

Justin spent 15 years as a professional writer and editor before his debut novel, Carpet Diem, was published in 2015. It became a best-seller and won a 2018 Audie award. Since 2018 he has been writing full time, alongside working on scripts with his wife, Juliet, who he met through a BBC scriptwriting contest.

They live just outside his hometown of Edinburgh with their Brady Bunch family of five kids.

He published The Lost War last year and has book two, The Insurgent King due for a Summer 2021 release, aswell as a follow up to Carpet Diem, I don’t like Mundanes in the works for the future.

Check out my interview with Justin from December ’19, back during the blissful ignorance of pre-covid life.

Interview!

Thanks for reading. The Lost War is also currently on Kindle Unlimited for those with a subscription to take advantage of.
